The Black Knights had been coming into Nottingham for two days now, arriving one at a time. Their appearance was made to be inconspicuous enough that they would have escaped the notice of the denizens of Nottingham. But one by one they had come to the castle, and all had been secretly received.
They were housed in a wing of the castle that was far away from the public eye, and waited on by only the most trusted of servants, many of those being the more refined soldiers Vasey had under his command. Kept away from prying eyes, they had awaited this day when their Order would triumph against the last real threat present in the North.
On Vasey's orders, Marian had been confined to her room so that she could not cause any more trouble, and Edward had suffered much the same. Through her thin window, she had seen nothing of the coming knights; hers was carefully positioned so that it neither overlooked the fields outside the town or the main roads below. From high in her tower, all she could see was rooftops. She could almost feel the trouble coming; some awful event which she was by now sure would be the end of Robin.
Now that the morning had finally arrived, Vasey readied himself in his office. Of course this trial was a sham, but he still needed to present it as true and just to his 'loving' people. And for that, he needed to be ready, and to bring all the 'evidence' pertaining to his misdemeanours.
