Willow said quietly to Buffy, only half serious. Buffy gave her a sideways glance, but she saw the humour too. And it was a good question. But they both saw that he ignored the 'we' aspect. So there still wasn't gonna be a whole lot of co-operative working between them. Especially with Dean's apparent dislike of witches. Willow tried to keep being nice, and gave a small smile. She really didn't think it was worth kicking up trouble. "Okay, well, if it turns out to be more difficult, I'll be around to help," she offered vaguely, though it seemed she'd probably be there helping Buffy rather than Dean or Sam. He shoved it to the side before rubbing his hands together. The biggest problem would be if the bones here weren't the right ones. Dean drug a hand over his face and shook his head. "Simple is often better, too much time wasted on things nobody needs." "The biggest problem will be if the bones here aren't the right ones." "Someones going to have to stick around to see if Stinky attacks again." But not me, Dean thought. He had about 3 weeks give or take and had to meet with Bobby yet, not that it was going to do a damn bit of good. "If it's not the right bones then Sam's gonna have to go there and burn them too."

It was something she knew well, but the reason why Dean was feeling that - well, she'd only know if he told her. And that seemed unlikely. "Me and Will can stay behind," she said suddenly. Willow glanced at her, surprised, but a moment later nodded her agreement. "We'll come along the first time, and if that doesn't work, we'll do it the next time." They didn't have anything in particular to get back to after all, and even if something did pop up, there were plenty of capable hands back home. She'd barely said 2 words since they'd gotten there and now she was volunteering to finish his job? "You'd kick ol' Stinky in the head again?" He wasn't being sarcastic this time, just curious. If the bones buried here weren't Stinky's then that meant they were, hell he didn't know. Sam had told him he knew but now he couldn't remember where, back east? Someplace he didn't have time to go to. "I think Sam told me the other bones were buried back east someplace. Sam would have to find those and burn them as well." "Let's just hope these are the right ones so we can all get out of this place."

Posts: 1264 (03/05/09 01:46 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Report Post	The traffic coming out of Portland had thinned some as they headed west. Sam had sped up to a point that he was certainly keeping a close eye out for any police as he smoothly passed slower moving vehicles, which happened to be most of them. Nothing happened to snarl traffic anywhere and before too long they'd reached the exit for the highway leading down the coast to Cannon Beach. Once on that highway, Sam would've have normally slowed down a bit more but he didn't until he came to the first little town. Then he thought he'd better give Yvonne the head's up as to how close they were. "Only about fifteen more minutes and we'll be there. Our motel is on this side of Cannon Beach." He'd been trying to keep his mind on his driving and what he could hear of the music from the radio. He and Yvonne had been silent since her phone call to Dean. Wasn't that he didn't enjoy talking to Yvonne but at the moment the one topic that they normally have no problem discussing was one that neither one of them wanted to talk too much on for now. So, instead the soft sounds of the radio kept the silence from becoming stifling until they come to this point and there was finally something else to say.

Posts: 56 (03/28/09 01:59 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Report Post	At his words Yvonne's heart sped up and she unconsciously smoothed her hair and adjusted her dress in preparation. She had been brooding though she tried not to, it wasn't fair to Sam who had been so sweet to pick her up and for that had become the butt of Dean's joke. Of course that was the usual between the two, that closeness of brothers. As they pulled in to the motel she was quick to open her door before the engine had even been turned off and immedately shivered at the cold blast that whipped through the car. Pulling her sweater closer about her body, she stepped out and looked around hoping to see Dean coming their way. "This is a beach?" She quipped, hiding her eager nervousness in light teasing. "Talk about false advertising!" Already her bare legs were turning red in the cold wind chaffing at her skin. Shivering she looked at the motel wondering which rooom was their's and back to Sam. "Can't ya'll find a hunt where it's warm?"

But as he was contemplating how bad this could get, Yvonne eagerly opened the car door and climbed out. He quickly turned off the engine and climbed out. Noticing how cold Yvonne was already becoming, he couldn't delay opening the door. "Yeah, welcome to the beach in the great Northwest." "We've tried and it just never works out." While he guided Yvonne to their room, he quickly came up with some semblence of a plan to get Buffy out of the way quickly without Dean catching too much flak from Yvonne. He'd just explain as he quickly did introductions that she was helping him with the case and was suppose to meet him here this morning. That should work. He opened the door to the room, fully expecting to see panic/happiness on Dean's face and surprise on Buffy's, but his intentions were to grab his stuff and usher Buffy out quickly after introductions.

Posts: 58 (03/29/09 03:22 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Report Post	Following Sam's lead Yvonne had to control herself not to race pass him in her eagerness to get out of the could and into Dean's warm embrace. She didn't care any longer that he'd over slept and couldn't meet her at the airport, that wasn't important. What was important was that he had been hurt and in a few short weeks be dead. Happy to see Dean the smile she had for him wasn't forced as Sam opened the door and she stepped in, only to stop just inside. First she noticed only Dean who looked the worse for wear and a chill went down her spine at the evidence of the damage he'd taken. She instinctively wanted to go to him, take him in her arms and never let go, but he wasn't alone. With him were two very lovely women, a curvy blond and willowy redhead. It wasn't as though she expected Dean to be a saint, shoot she was mighty glad he wasn't, but she couldn't stop the punched-in-the-gullet feeling either. He had company. What kind she didn't know yet and wasn't about to make assumptions right off the bat. However, she knew how she'd look to them, like an eager slut, and had to fight the flush of embarrassment that made her go hot than cold. Anger warred against her gladness to see him, probably unfair but that didnt' make it go away. Clutching her bag she raised an eyebrow to Dean after glancing over the room. When she found her voice it was throatier than normal, her accent thickening from the emotion she was trying to keep at bay. "Ah didn't know you had company hun, you want ah come back later?"

He heard her question to Dean and thought he'd better try to defuse the situation now. "Yvonne, this is Buffy Summers and Willow Rosenberg. They are helping me out with this case and came to get me this morning so we could go over the particulars of the case. I wasn't aware that it had gotten that late already." "Buffy. Willow. This is Yvonne Rousseau, a good family friend. She has a wonderful shop of unique items in New Orleans and has helped us with a couple of cases." Sam didn't want to say too much about Yvonne but also didn't want Buffy and Willow to jump to the wrong conclusion. Yvonne had dressed to greet Dean at the airport, not to meet new people and it wasn't right that they might get the wrong impression. Deciding that the quicker he got his stuff the quicker he could leave with Buffy and Willow, giving Yvonne and Dean the time alone they needed. He leaned inside the doorway and grabbed his bag with his laptop inside. Standing back up he glanced towards Dean. "I think the three of us," he glanced towards Buffy and Willow, "can have our meeting at the diner or the library." Glancing once again at Buffy, "Buffy could you give me a lift?"

Had it been that long already? Dean's stomach knotted as he heard the car pull in and a door open and close before Sam even parked. Yvonne. A quick smile flitted across his face knowing she was finally there but his happiness had a degree of apprehension too. They'd almost fought this morning when he'd over slept, he had three weeks to live and this time together would be hard on them both. A wave of regret washed over him, maybe he shouldn't have called her but it was too late now. Yvonne was here and before he could even move it seemed both Yvonne and Sam were at the cabin door and in the room. Yvonne was a brilliant ray of sunshine in her bright yellow dress that was made to kill. Dean could only stare at her, hoping his eyes didn't bug out of his head as he took her in. "Wow" He managed to at least mutter in his head if not softly out loud. Yvonne's voice drug his eyes from her body to her face where the look caught him off guard. A questioning look formed on his face. He looked around and realized he'd totally forgotten Buffy and Willow. Oh hell... this had to look bad but his brain wouldn't click into gear. Sam's quick introductions would hopefully save the day, if not his ass again. "Um Yvonne, you look..." hot, hot, damn babe his mind was going to write a check his mouth couldn't cash if he wasn't careful "Great and um, no wait Sam." "Hang on, I think Von and I...um." "You guys can have your meeting here, I think.. we should take off for a little bit."

Oh yes, dressing up had been worth every bit of discomfort and embarrassment. That didn't change her irritation with him, he knew she was coming today and didn't say anything about company. Her entire plan of blowing Dean's mind and the two of them escaping alone had not worked out at all. However it wasn't the fault of Buffy 'That's a real name?' or Willow 'How appropriate'; Yvonne had no intention of being rude no matter how badly she wanted Dean alone. The smile returned to her face, if perhaps there was a wicked gleam in them as she looked at Dean, it was gone as she turned it to the woman. Another chill wind ruffled through the open door and she briefly glanced over her shoulder to Sam. "Be a gent and close that door Sam 'fore I get froze to the floor where ah stand. Thanks hun." Stepping farther in she made room for Sam to enter too. Moving forward Yvonne held out her hand and greeting the two women as warmly as any New Orleans southern belle. "Nice to meet you Ms Summers and Ms Rosenberg, ya'll can call me Yvonne. Here to help with their hunt are you?" "Ah'm glad to see it, these boys need awl the help they can get." She teased, flashing a sideways grin toward Dean and Sam. "Ah must admit, Ah wasn't 'specten to meet more hunters, 'specially of the female variety. You are a rare breeed." Yvonne stepped back from the woman and looked to Dean and Sam. "Now no need for ya'll to be rushing off, we jes got here and ah'm near frozen through! Ah know there's some coffee here somewhere?"

It didn't take long for Buffy to realise that potential awkwardness of it all. It took Willow even less time, and she'd already started to shrink back when the door opened. The woman who entered was stunningly beautiful, and Buffy couldn't help but admire her courage to wear something like that this far north. The good news was that Yvonne didn't look like she was going to loose her temper, but it was obvious that she wasn't happy. Willow was infinitely grateful that Sam stepped in almost immediately, and she offered her best friendly and innocent smile Buffy gave a brief, awkward smile and then nodded to Sam's suggestion that they go now, but Dean seemed to have other plans. She didn't mind who went and who stayed, but the sooner this awkwardness was over with, the better. But then Yvonne greeted them, and Buffy couldn't help but smile as she teased the boys. "Nice to meet you, too," Willow said shyly. "We weren't expecting to meet other hunters when we came up here, either," Buffy replied. She wasn't sure exactly how this was going to go, but there was no reason not to be nice, especially since Yvonne was making the same effort despite the awkward situation. "And just call us Buffy and Willow." They both fell silent then. The awkwardness wasn't completely gone, but a crisis seemed not to be forthcoming, which was a big relief. Even with Yvonne's friendly invite to stay, the awkwardness was still overwhelming. He still thought leaving with Buffy and Willow might be the smartest idea. "Thanks Yvonne but we really do need to get back to work on this case. The sooner we get rid of Stinky the better for all involved." Glancing back over at Buffy and Willow he could tell that even with the friendly looks that they gave, they both appeared as if a quick escape would be welcome. "If you two are ready, we can get going and maybe we can avoid a repeat of last night." He glanced back toward Dean and Yvonne and gave them a smile. "That way you can relax from your long flight and you two can catch up." He put his hand back on the doorknob in preparation for what he hoped would be a quick escape for the three of them.

Dean felt like his head was a ping pong ball. His vision blurred and he rubbed his eyes. He'd not planned on this thing turning into 'This Is Your Life'. He knew Sam was only trying to help him out and Dean more than appreciated it and for as much as he wanted to have wild, hot sex with Vonnie up against the cabin wall, it just wasn't going to happen now. Dean wanted out of the cabin and wanted Vonnie with him. First he needed to stop the voices or he was going to toss his cookies. "Stop..." "Stop it.. all of you." He stated quietly but firmly. Dean sighed and rubbed his right eye. He'd told Sam he could run this show and Sam had stated he didn't want it that way, so by Dean's book he still ran it. "No Sam, you three stay here." "It'll be easier on everyone if I leave right now." "Sam, you still need a place to crash and regroup if needed." "Yvonne and I will take off." He wasn't going to wait for any arguements. Dean reached for his colt and put it in his waistband of his jeans, grabbed his jacket and duffel before reaching for Yvonne's hand to head toward the door and out to the Impala. "Call me Sam if you need me." "Otherwise... well you know..."

She smiled and felt grateful to Sam for trying to clear everyone out for her and Dean. Not that she didn't enjoy his company but she was eager to be alone with Dean too. Suddenly Dean had had enough, as Yvonne felt he would, and the next thing she knew he was dragging her out the door. Good thing she hadn't set her bag down yet and she gave a hasty wave and quick 'later' to the others, shivering once again when the door was opened. There hadn't been time for her to warm up yet and she hurried her steps, not minding Dean's hurry at all, to get to the car. At least the Impala was already warmed up and she sighed with releif after getting in. Being rude to Sam wasn't her intention, she'd make it up to him later, perhaps with a good home-made meal if this northern town sold any good fixins. However, that thought quickly left once Dean joined her in the car and she reached out hook his neck with a hand and leaned over to kiss him.

Sam had barely managed to back far enough away in time as Dean opened the door so he and Yvonne could make their get away. Closing the door behind them, Sam wasn't exactly sure what just happened. He'd figured Dean and Yvonne would take off and really had only been leaving so Yvonne could regroup after her flight or they could make their plans without being rushed. Sam had no intentions of sleeping in the Impala, not with Stinky attacking it every night. But apparently something had freaked Dean out causing him to bolt with Yvonne in tow. Okay, well at least that was settled. After a few seconds for him to collect himself, Sam responded to Willow. "Oh no, it wasn't you. . . Um. . .This morning hasn't gone as planned at all. . . Really." No it hadn't. Sam thought he'd had his act together, that was until Dean's whirlwind departure. Now he realized he needed more coffee so he could sound like he knew what he was talking about working with Buffy and Willow. Dropping his book bag he began to move toward the kitchenette. "Give me just a sec and then we can get started. Would either of you like any coffee?"

Once outside the air seemed cooler than when he'd been out. The little sun there was dipped behind a cloud. It would rain again Dean thought. Rain would wash away the smells in the air and the worst of the stuff on the ground out at the truck stop. He tossed his duffel in the backseat and tossed his jacket after it, then slid behind the wheel of the Impala. Vonnie's bright yellow dress was a sharp contrast to the gloomy skies of Oregon. Dean hoped it would help his mood. Turning the key in the ignition the car rumbled to life just as Vonnie kissed him. Maybe things would be ok for a few hours. Maybe with Vonnie he wouldn't see or hear the things that haunted his days and nights now. Maybe he could find some peace before the end came and he'd never know peace or love or light again. He backed the Impala up and headed away from town, away from the still burning and smoldering truck stop, away from it all.

There was no way he was going to reschedule. He wanted to get this finished as soon as he possible could. The sooner Stinky disappeared permanently, the sooner they could head towards Bobby's. He was hoping with Bobby and him working together, they'd come up with something to save Dean. "No, now's fine." Sam turned around leaning on the counter while the coffeemaker gurgled behind him. "Really what needs to be done is to track down Ned Berstram's grave, dig him up and salt and burn his bones." About that time it dawned on him that Dean had just taken off with the car and all of the equipment. Aw shit. Guess I'll have to come up with a shovel some other way. Then he quickly glanced around and gave a sigh of relief to see his shotgun sitting on the table.
